Even though this winter has been unusually warm, there are still things we can do to decrease our heating costs. Here are some ideas:

• Make an appointment with a professional to replace air filters, seal ducts, and tune up your furnace or boiler.
• Check the insulation in your home.
• If you have a working fireplace or wood stove, it’s time to get them cleaned and inspected.
• Contact your utility company and order a home energy audit.

Do you feel a cold draft near your windows and doors? Here are a few suggestions:

• For the long term investment, research and budget costs for replacing your windows.
• Check out insulated curtains for your windows.
• Put a nice door sweep at the bottom of your door.
